TaoTronics's barcode scanner is an excellent product for a home or small office scanning needs.

TaoTronics is a Chinese company that has an American company distributing their peripherals that can work with Windows, Macs and Android OS machines.

The set comes with:

* The hand-barcode scanner
* A usb receiver
* A usb cable
* micro cd with optional software
* a small cleaning cloth

Although the set comes with an instruction booklet, the booklet itself is poorly produced. You have to go to TaoTronics dot com and find the product to see all of the features as the company should have hired someone who's fluent in standard English to translate the instructions.

Nevertheless, here are the main features:

Scan upc-barcode to a spreadsheet
Scan upc-barcode to an online upc search engines.

The laser scanner works on a 2.4GHz spectrum.

A couple of things you'll need to do in order to start scanning.
1. Once the Receiver is plugged into the computer, you have to scan barcode on page 2.

2. Set up the spreadsheet and locate your starting point.

I opened up Microsoft Excel 2013 and began to scan the barcodes on a few cd's.

Then, I re-scanned the barcodes in Google's search bar.

Both, worked flawlessly.

The only thing about the set I don't like is that you have to go online to the company's website to get clearer directions on how to use this device. They HAVE TO re-do the "User Guide."
