Tanimowo Gbenga - LONG ROAD

Long road seems to me like a woe,
When I start it seems like endless hole,
It weaves along like a spider’s web,
No choice no guide I have to go to,
No leader no directions I have to follow,
It circles and leads me to the starting point,
She told me I should not slow nor run,
She said the world is war and I must be strong,
She said it has instructions but I have no manual,
So I heard I should not worry for she is my teacher!

I saw nothing on her board to answer her questions,
I must try for the sake of my next generation,
A road of pollution I need to find solution,
Ahh..for any mistakes no room for correction,
Billions of tears fall from my eye like rain drops,
Oh! ! ! its a long road with no short cuts,
I have to walk along with my lazy sword,
I wish she could have gaven me instructions,
Before her world too is cut short,
This journey I walk for the sake of my generation!

Yet this is a long road to go indeed,
Weather changes without any traces,
And I live in this part to reap my wages,
Either good or bad I rewind to past sorrows,
On this journey restless till we fade!
A winding road lined with awesome challenges,
On which I set my goals and I walk alone,
Hoping one day that I may reach home,
Maybe I pay back or die along this walk,
Indeed a long road to cross on which I must go!
