Tan Pratonix - Impressionistic

From a shock of trees it sifts
in, spreading a black
hush over the water, dims
the grass at her feet tucked
under the grey skirt
showing
brown calves and a bit of ankle;

blows white ruffles
on the swell of her bosom, gleams
the gold ring on the third finger
of her left hand as
she tries to mend the buckle
of her shoe, hair waving

over a face half-hidden - the night
hovers
a moment round that still
sedulous shape,
seeps softly
up the bare foot
and blurs.
