Tan Ma - I Smile

It surprises me that when I try
to think of the sweetest
lines to write, I have nothing.

Well it is frustrating,
having a bunch of clumped imagery
of supernovas, galaxies, or even love
but not being able to use them to describe
what we'll always have.

And tonight has been quite revelatory
even hilarious perhaps that I had to get up from bed
just to write it down.

For I have found that the most romantic poem I ever made
was written long ago
in a blank sheet of paper
that contained nothing but
the very image of us
falling deeply in love.
