They gather in a remote area along the border with Afghanistan
They are training to die.
(SOUNDBITE) (Pashto) TALIBAN COMMANDER, SHAMIM MEHSUD, ADDRESSING RECRUITS, SAYING:
"Are you ready to sacrifice your lives? Are you ready to shed your blood and jump into red hot flames? Are you willing to become thorns in their paths and cause gaping wounds? Are you ready to destroy them?"
The men are being trained to face the Pakistani army, one of the biggest in the world.
The Pakistani Taliban, an ally of the Afghan Taliban and al Qaeda, have pledged to overthrow the government.
The deputy commander of the Pakistan Taliban, who have been waging a four-year war against the government in Islamabad, said Saturday that the two sides were holding talks. The government in Pakistan has denied the reports.
