Taiwan elects ruling party to unprecedented third term

Voters in Taiwan have defied China, electing a new president who's vowed to always put the island's democracy first. Lai Ching Te has secured his party a historic third consecutive term in government. But despite a comfortable win, it fell short of a majority in parliament. That promises to make the next four years more challenging.
