Why is it so hard to say goodbye
but so easy to break down and cry?
Is it because we’re weak
Or simply because we’re human.
Who really knows anymore.

Why is it so easy to cut your wrist
but so very hard to admit your at risk
of ending it all from the hurt you have
you hold it in for so very long then
before anyone notices it, your gone.

Why can’t we just say what we are dealing with
honestly I think it’s because we are afraid.
Afraid of what exactly? Our selfs?
Maybe afraid of no one caring
or maybe of it getting worse.

Why are we hiding in the dark?
In our bed staring at the ceiling.
Alone... the feeling of what depression makes us feel.
But are we really alone? Is it we just want to be alone?
No, it’s because when we try to get help, people are simple minded.

So why are people so simple minded?
I’ll tell you why. It’s because they too are afraid.
They don’t know what to say, so they try to play it safe.
Well that’s not enough to keep me from jumping off the edge.
So tell me something to make me move my foot, that dangles over the edge.
