Tagle backs probe on pork barrel scam

MANILA -- An emotional Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle fought back tears as he addressed the pork barrel scam linking lawmakers and government officials. Tagle appealed to those linked to the P10 billion peso scam to examine their conscience. He also backed investigations on the controversy. The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) had earlier called on the public and church groups to avoid asking funds from politicians amid the pork barrel scam.
