T-34-85

The T-34 was a Soviet medium tank that had a profound and lasting effect on the field of tank design. Although its armour and armament were surpassed later in the war, it has been often credited as the most effective, efficient and influential tank design of the Second World War.

*the main battel tank of the soviet union during WW2 was the T-34 moddel, the -85 variant was introduced after the battle of Kursk as a long awaited upgrade it was in fact a conpromise between the T-34 and T-43 moddels. This particular variant remained in service long after WW2 and played a role all acros the world, more notably during the break up of Yugoslavia where all sides used this tanks.

In this video we see a demonstration ride at the Pivka military history park, during the 10th anual military history festival. This particular one was purchesed by Yugoslavia and later stayed in the arsenal of the Yugoslav Peoples Army (JLA) until the disolusion of Yugoslavia when it remained in Slovenia owned by fist the Slovenian Teritorial Defence (TO) and than the Slovenian Army (SV) now it is the property of the Slovenian military museum.
