Syrian refugees flood into Jordan
Description
Syrian refugees cross into Jordan through a mountain pass, to escape the escalating civil war.
Tens of thousands of people have now fled into the country and the authorities here say around 1,000 more arrive every day.
It's a two hour walk up steep mountain roads to cross this unofficial border.
Some refugees have even encountered gunfire during the journey.
Eleven-year-old Tala is one of several wounded while crossing the border. His sister was shot in the chest.
But for many refugees making the difficult journey is the only option left.
SOUNDBITE: UNIDENTIFIED SYRIAN WOMAN, SAYING (Arabic):
"We left because there is killing and people are being slaughtered. There is aerial bombardment. There is no food, no drinks for children. They banned food and drinks. We were attacked and my brother died. My brother died on Eid. We have no reason to stay there."
Syria's neighbours are struggling to deal with an influx of refugees, as intense fighting forces people from their homes.
The United Nations says that in August alone 100,000 left the country.
