Description
President Bashar al-Assad has ordered a new general amnesty for opposition activists, a day after an offer of "national dialogue" to end Syria's unrest, but protesters continue to call for his resignation. Amateur images from recent demonstrations in the suburbs of Damascus and Boukamel. ATTENTION: We have obtained these images from YouTube and can verify that the images were shot in Harasta and Qatana, in the suburbs of Damascus, and al-Boukamel, eastern Syria. The YouTube posting indicates that the images were shot overnight June 21-22, 2011.
