STORY: In a surprise visit Syrian First Lady Asma al-Assad toured an elementary school in Damascus on Thursday during mid-term exams.
Syrian state TV showed pictures of Assad touring the classrooms and talking to children.
The Syrian First Lady meets on a regular basis with families of the victims of the ongoing conflict in the country.
More than 100.000 people have been killed and thousands displaced inside and outside the country, over the course of the conflict.
