Syria sees "relatively peaceful' protests
6 Views • Aug 16, 2012
Description
Unlike previous Fridays, security forces mostly held their fire - reportedly on the orders of president Bashar al-Assad.
But some activists say the reason for the lower number of casualties is a result of a low-turnout of protesters amid heavy military crackdowns and sieges across the country.
Zeina Khodr reports on nationwide demonstrations that some activists said were dedicated to Syrian women imprisoned for protesting.
