Syrian tv shows what it says is the aftermath of a car bomb blast in Homs.

At least 13 people died in the explosion.

The victims included members of the security forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad fighting a three-year revolt against his rule.

Another 40 have been wounded in the attack near a busy roundabout in the city centre.

Car bombs have become frequent in Homs in the past weeks, more so since Assad's forces moved into previously-held rebel areas of the city this month.
