Syria car blast kills 10
Description
The aftermath of a car bomb in the Syrian capital of Damascus.
According to state television, 10 people, including women and children, died from a "terrorist car bomb" near a bakery in the southeastern district.
Footage here, that cannot be independently verified purports, to show the blast site; Syria pro-Assad TV showed similar pictures.
The bomb appears to have ripped through the street and set fire to a nearby building.
Elsewhere in the capital, residents also reported numerous air strikes.
The violence comes as the failed Eid al-Adha ceasefire officially comes to an end Monday.
A human rights watchdog said as many as 420 people were killed in fighting since Friday, with both sides blaming each other for violating the truce.
Peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi, who brokered the deal, was in Moscow with Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov on Monday.
He said he regretted that the supposedly agreed to ceasefire was not upheld.

"I'm terribly sorry, just as Sergei (Lavrov) has said he was, that this appeal has not been heard to the level we hoped it would. But that will not discourage us."
Brahimi added that the U.N. would not be sending peace keepers to the conflict zone any time soon.
