Syria Announces Large-Scale Offensive

The Head of the General Staff of the Syrian Army announced on Thursday the beginning of a large-scale offensive to liberate towns still under IS control. General Ali Abdullah Ayoub said the offensive comes after Russian airstrikes damaged the facilities of the terrorist groups. He said that the strikes have reduced their combat capability and that the Syrian Armed Forces have taken the reins of military operations. Hazem Abdulla reports from Damascus for teleSUR.
