Sylvia Thomas - Silent Tears

Through these tear-misted eyes,
This soul seeks light.
Yet no one is watching,
You're all alone.

In this God-forsaken bathroom,
everything is spinning fast,
drowning you in a whirlwind of pain,
even though time has stopped.

Yet outside, just beyond this door,
the world is moving at a normal pace.
There are voices and laughter,
because no one knows you're crying.

Even one moan,
can alleviate your pain,
You're collapsing so painfully,
And trying desperately to keep it silent.

Up above, the sick yellow light flickers.
Followed by the buzzing sound.
You scream in your heart,
even the light is mocking you.

You keep silent,
You keep quiet,
You don't want to be heard,
Because you know it's your fault.

You stare into the broken mirror,
the bloodshot eyes looked back,
You're tired, but you can't show it.
No one will ever know what happened.
