Sylvia Thomas - Dead Snow

Standing by the dim lamp post,
Heaven's Tears fall upon me.
Snowflakes and glitter dancing,
Flighted by the harsh wind.

Falling to my knees,
Staring up at the closed windows around,
Not a hand or a face in sight,
My heart was colder than the snowstorm brewing.

No matter how much I love you,
Or how frozen the earth has become,
We are parted by that frosted window,
And that barrier between our classes.

Falling from the light,
Lost in my tortured soul,
I am nothing more than a facade,
That is so in love with you.

We are bonded by that chain,
The one they call Love,
But why is my heart twisted,
Like the Devil's forgotten toy?

A snowflake falls into my hand,
But it doesn't melt as I hoped it would.
It remains frozen and ever so beautiful,
just like our forbidden love.
