It rained every day of my memory
before you.

Clouds hid the sun on the brightest of days
before you.

Colors fought gray film to be seen
before you.

Happiness hovered behind the skirts of melancholy
before you.

Pleasure lingered beneath numb skin
before you.

Love wandered lonely, unrecognized and pitied,
before you.

Life reduced to mere existence, unridden and plodding,
before you.

Now life rides in full sunshine, clouds banished
Colors vibrant, happiness and love hand in hand,
Numb, gray and meloncholy have vanished,
Expelled in the light and laughter that land
over me as I stand
before you.
