Sweltering temperatures in store _ 080318

Good morning. We are not only having record-breaking highs, but the morning lows are unbearably hot too. Seoul had another super tropical night overnight, getting no lower than 30.4 degrees Celsius this morning. That's the highest morning temperature in Seoul since weather records began.

Temperatures will rise rapidly along with blazing sunshine, brace yourselves for another steamy day. Beijing and Tokyo are also having sweltering heat.

Highs in Korea will range from the mid to upper thirties, while strong sunshine will boost UV rays to very high levels.

Daily highs in Seoul, Daejeon, Gyeongju and Daegu will be at 38 degrees this afternoon, Jeju at 33 degrees.

Temperatures will drop a bit next week, while next Tuesday will be Ipchu, the beginning of autumn according to the lunar calendar. But it will take some time to feel more like autumn.
