Goodbye is the hardest word to utter
With you, I’ve learned to live
Like a fallen milk tooth from a bleeding gum
I realised your stay was temporary
I remain challenged by your departure
Yet realise my love for you was premature
For one to say
How I wish you can stay
Is an unbearable truth, to withhold
For my love for you precedes my silence
My goodbye is full of pretence
How I wish I could see you again
For me to redeem my pain
Of withholding what I thought would be a strain
Of living apart of my other part
Goodbye is no good to live by
