Eyeing the kettle, grabbing your tooth
We stumble on papers and walk on prickles
The toughest, the sharpest, the rugged, the darkest
We clean your blood and boil your tears
Obese little popping wounds and
The blisters on your toes
We bite them, we pop them, sew them with our nails
Killing the traffic, firing some fire
Igniting, erupting, exploding, flooding
We climb on rivers and swim through the mountains
Chugging gasoline and chewing on stones
The sun freezes in our stares and waterfalls dry on our tongues
By birth, like angels, pure as the driven snow
By life, we tear the wings and fly on brooms
Through rubbles we glide and in triumphs we strive
Still we bask in the glory of your pride!

But beyond we see, a door without a key
Ink-blotches of salient dishonor and
Your smudged and stained integrity
We conceal them, neglect them, accept them as our own
Yet we are filthily dragged out of your zone.
