Sutton pays to save its libraries from closure
Description
Sutton Coldfield Town Council will spend around £505,000 a year to keep Boldmere and Walmley libraries open and add hours at Mere Green, while Birmingham City Council continues to run the service. The deal exposes a growing divide between communities that can afford to step in and those left facing cuts.
