Sightless, I peer into
cupped hands
Somehow it is soothing,
this caress of self
I find I do this when
weary in mind
as well as in body
Soft, warm palms block out
the glaring light of reality
a short time...but
it is enough
A deep breath, then
I reappear
No one has noticed
I was gone
