Perhaps, perchance
You might love the way I wrapped
Your present
All full of ribbons of me
And a hand picked card
That says just enough
To not say too much
And scare you away
(Even though you always come back)

Perchance, perhaps
You will notice how I always remember
All the little novelties
You think clever
Making me ever clever keeping them filed
In thecabinet of my constantly caring
To present to you, for sharing
Perhaps sometime soon.

Perhaps you won't mind that I
Missing you, and a little hungry
For love, stole back some chocolate
From a tiny torn corner
In your perhaps present
I doubt you'll mind
Perhaps, perchance
