Surgery for Type 2 Diabetes

Leading robotic prostatectomy surgeon, Dr. David Samadi, highlights a new study on treating diabetes with experimental surgery. Researchers found that 47% gastric bypass patients had better results in overcoming Type 2 Diabetes through surgery rather than diet and exercise. Obese patients can become insulant resistant, leading to diabetes. This small study had a relatively short follow-up period, but Dr. Samadi believes it could lead the way to improvement.
