Surf - How to do a bottom turn frontside
2 Views • Apr 09, 2014
Description
wave.
As the name suggests, a bottom turn is made when the surfer reaches the bottom
of the wave. The purpose of a bottom turn is to change direction so that you are
going along the wave, rather than directly in to shore.
There are two types of bottom turn: front side and back side.
Front side
A front side bottom turn is when you want to head along the wave with your back
to the shore, facing the wave.
When you reach the bottom of the wave, bend your knees, turn your shoulders to
face where you want to go and put your weight on your toes.
When you are the facing the desired direction, straighten your posture back up to
your original position
