Summit backs Afghan security transition

Delgates at an international conference on Afghanistan held in London have announced that Afghan forces could take over security in some provinces by the end of 2010.

David Miliband, the UK foreign minister, also announced a new fund to allow the Afghan government to woo Taliban fighters away from the conflict.
