Suicide attack targets foreign troops in Kabul

A suicide bomber traveling by car targeted a convoy of vehicles carrying foreign forces in the eastern part of Kabul, on Monday (February 10), according to official sources.
The attack took place near an Afghan prison and it is not clear how many people were killed or wounded.
So far no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
This year the NATO-led military intervention in Afghanistan that began in 2001 is coming to an end. Afghan President Hamid Karzai is due to step down.
War took an increasing toll on Afghanistan's civilians in 2013 as fighting intensified between the government and insurgents, the United Nations said in a report on Saturday (February 8), with total casualties rising 14 percent.
The gradual withdrawal of foreign troops has left Afghan government forces more vulnerable to attack by insurgents, and the resulting battles helped account for last year's rise in casualties, according to the rep
