Struggle for saving mangroves

The struggle that the residents of 15 odd villages in Mandwa started nearly five months ago of saving mangroves has finally given some result. On February 3, MiD DAY carried an article ‘Save Our Mangroves’ that showed how a private company had allegedly hands in constructing an illegal dam thus obstructing the flow of saline water to the mangroves. The villagers had then alleged that nearly 10-15 acres of mangroves had already been destroyed and the people behind all this were on a mass destruction trip.
