Street Testing Litelok Gold against common tools
Description
Litelok offers an easy, flexible, reliable way to secure your bike in public. Weighing in at approximately 1.1 Kg (2.4 lbs), it is lighter than any other gold rated flexible bike lock on the market. In this video we attempt to defeat the lock using a range of tools commonly used on the street in order to demonstrate the strength of the lock against sustained attempts to compromise it.
To test its strength, we use a variety of tools that are frequently used in real life. The lock holds firm against cable cutters, bolt croppers, cordless drill, hacksaw, freeze spray, hammer & chisel and crow bar (also known as a wrecking bar). Unlike regular solid D locks, the strap is flexible and simple to secure around fixed objects and narrow spaces. It also has a patented inline lock which has been developed with a well-known UK manufacturer, which snaps securely shut without the need for a key. A key is only needed to open a Litelok. Litelok is certified according to all British and International lock quality standards. It has been awarded Sold Secure Bicycle Gold, which is the highest security rating achievable by the independent testing and certification house, and Best Cycling Innovation by the London Cycling Awards 2016.
