Pay up or you won't get home.
That was the message airline staff gave passengers enroute from India to England.
The Comtel flight touched down in Austria but the airline didn't have enough money to refuel and cover airport fees.
Passengers said they were taken to cash machines to withdraw money.
Over 31, 000 dollars was handed over to airline staff to fund the journey home.
Back in Birmingham, the travel agents office was packed with angry passengers demanding a refund of the extra money.
Rani Rindi was travelling with her young daughter.

"We paid 130 (pounds). If you didn't have the money they were making us go one by one outside in Vienna to get the cash out."

"We wanted to get home, we wanted to get home because we'd been stranded for about four, three days. We just wanted to get back home, we got together, who was going to take us home."
Passengers on Thursday had little luck in getting their money back with police being called to try and calm the out of pocket travellers.
