StockTwits Opens Trading

StockTwits, the real-time financial information, and media network are launching cryptocurrency trading, allowing its network of 6 million users to start trading on Thursday. The purpose behind this offering is to bring emerging markets and new asset classes to investors. According to a release on the offering, crypto adoption in 2021 rose almost 900%. CEO Rishi Khanna said in a statement, “StockTwits has built a strong community since 2008 through our data tools and social features. The community and data have served a strong on-ramp into the platform, but the addition of execution on the platform is a key product expansion that will help us better serve our users.” Moreover, StockTwits believes that users are not interested in reading data from big names when they can get their data from businesses that are truly on the cutting edge of the industry. In an effort to reimagine how financial media is produced and presented, StockTwits aims to serve those who are ready to invest and save instead of spending and borrowing.
