At closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose six-one hundredths of a percent, the Nasdaq Composite dropped just about that much and and the S&P 500 closed nearly flat.
Seoul stocks edged up Monday, extending their winning streak to a 12th consecutive day, with investors cautiously pinning hopes on the upcoming U.S.-China trade talks next month.
The benchmark KOSPI was nearly flat to close at 20-92.
Oil ended about 1-percent higher on Monday after a volatile trading session as traders focused on when Saudi Arabia would be able to restore full output following the September 14th attack on its facilities.
Brent futures gained point-8 percent to settle at 64-dollars and 77 cents a barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude gained one-percent to settle at 58-64 a barrel.
