Stephen Hovious - The Trinity.

I guess I meant nothing to you,
You used me and now you’re through,
I’d like to go back to when you said “I love you”,
So I can tell myself not to say it too.

I struggle not to go back to you,
Seeing as I hated thinking it’s through.
But then I think, how can something be through,
If it wasn’t even true?
And how come when you hurt me like you did,
I’m still tempted to come back to you?
So I hope that one day, I can be completely over you.

[2] I spent my time with you,
When you were down, I heard you through,
When you were mine I held you high,
Now that you’re gone, I can only say goodbye.
Letting you go was the hardest part, I hated watching us grow apart.
When you moved on,
I knew my chance was gone,
But I’m over you now,

By some chance, somehow.

[3] You were a best friend to me, I knew you before I even turned three.
A part of you lives on in me,
A name,
It’s all part of the game.
Since you’ve been gone,
Things haven’t been the same,
Everyone’s gone to shame.
I miss you now that you're gone,
and not just because not doing so would be wrong,
I wish I would've had one more chance to tell you,
I love you.
