Description

I hope you don’t think I’m codding
when I say there will always be a plaice
in my carp for you. My love
is a fresh mountain bream
that runs through my shoal,
shining like a diamond roach.
I know you’ve come to trout me
but it doesn’t mackerel
what other people think,
its what we eel inside that batters.
The way you make my heart
kipper a beat, the ray I flounder
when I think you’re going
to leave me in the perch.
So, my darling, it comes down
to the same old john dory,
the words I mean to say the most
are salmon said. I never minnowed
to hurt you but in the shark reality
of prawn I can only think of what
pike have been and thank you
for a whale of a time.
Love and fishes for elver and elver.
