Stella McCartney opens boutique in Beijing

British designer Stella McCartney opened her first boutique in Beijing on Tuesday (May 21), a priority city for her brand this year, which is expanding in Asia and already has outlets in Japan, Thailand, South Korea and Singapore.

McCartney came to the opening ceremony of her first store in Beijing wearing a simple black dress, in keeping with her usual low-key style.

Speaking to the press she revealed she's excited to have this store opening in China.

''I think it's great. You know I think we are coming from a very new way. We are coming to a really sustainable mall here. So we are young fresh brand. You know we are quite a new brand for luxury. So it's new for us to be here,'' Stella said referring to potential market future in the world's second economy."
