Stella Andrews - uncurl my thoughts

My eyes and heart had been covered over,
with a sheet of black and pain.
I tried to wash myself clean,
But never i thought, would i see again.

Questions to things that didn't have an answer,
And confusion with the simplest of things,
I felt as if i was crazy,
Like i was trying to fly with broken wings.

I lay there in the middle of the street,
and cars and people pass right by me.
Screaming and yelling at me,
Their voices were beastly.

I only wanted to stare at the sky,
to swim in it's soothing of nothingness,
Forgetting the imperfections that had grown in my life,
Casting myself into coldness.

I was lying on a road,
the cars would skid around me,
why won't they just hit me?
So i can leave this frenzy.

Something soft and beautiful touched my arm,
And a warm smile followed.
A little girl lay by my side,
And then swallowed.

'why are you lying here girl? ' She said to me.
'your much too pretty to be all alone'
She passed me a flower,
'there, now your a princess on your thrown! '

I told her to leave me alone,
And it was too dangerous for her here,
But she just held my hand,
'everybody has times when things seem a little queer'

With that she gave me a kiss on the cheek,
And ran off into the swarm of cars,
I don't even know if she was really there,
but then for once, i saw the stars.

i got up from that road,
and smiled to the world,
I wasn't going insane,
I was just waiting till everything had uncurled.
