Description

Stories are the stuff of life;
The crystalline pattern of it.
They dance us, dance with us,
Twirl, twirl, step forward,
Step back

They repeat -

Perhaps we all have our own tale to tell.
The story created by character,
Like turbulence from an up thrust stone,
In the rushing stream of life.

We repeat -

Over and over: the same pattern, same poem, same song:
The same story.
Maybe it is just practice,
For that one wonderful time,
When a new path is taken,
A new key begun.

But when one knows,
When one knows stories.
Learns their paw prints and spoor,
Learns to taste them in the air.
Then one can try and step back,
And say, after this one is over...
It's over.
- Finé!
- - The End.

Then -

Doors can be locked.
Windows barred.
That none may again trespass,
Those hidden scars.
No more stories.
No more songs.
Only silence will echo.

The poet?
Gone.
