Starting P90X | Tip #1 | P90X Tips

Congratulations on ordering P90X. So many people that I have come across and whom I coach tend to do the same thing when their P90X order arrives. The rip it open, toss aside the manuals and put in the first DVD. After they finish, they cant walk and probably wont be back to do a second workout.
My first P90X Tip is to have you slow down. I know you are excited and thats natrual. You should be excited for P90X cause once you graduate from the program you life will be very different.
My goal is to provide you with P90X Tips that will help you get started on the right foo so your chances of graduating are high.
Tip #1 - My first tip is an easy tip. Your P90X package will probably arrive some time during the week. You are going to be so pumped to start your program and thats awesome. Keep up your excitement but make sure you pull out the Fitness and Nutrition guide. Read over the Quick Start Guide and set a time you are going to read the fitness guide because the fitness guide is going to tell you how and why P90X is structured the way it is and if you follow the program youll get the desired results.
Which leads me into the structure or the P90X Workout Calender or P90X Workout Schedule. Every Beachbody Workout Program comes with a set schedule for you to follow. Many people ignore that schedule and will either pop in a disc here and there or try to make up their own schedule. I strongly recommend following the one of the 3 schedules provided for you which are P90X Classic, P90X Lean or P90X Doubles.
All three of these schedules have a Rest Day. So before you start any workout DVD or schedule, make sure you choose your rest day first. If you get P90X on a Tuesday and you start on a Wednesday your rest day will be Tuesday.
I take my rest days on Sunday and I always start my week on a Monday cause that is what works with my schedule. Which day during the week is your busiest or which day of the week do you want to not have to worry about working out. Then that day should be your day of rest. For me its Sunday cause on Sunday I like to do nothing.
So there is Tip #1. Before you do anything, pick which day you are going to do nothing.
