Starmer defends stance on EU standards
Description
Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer has defended comments he made about not wanting to diverge from European Union standards, after he was accused of wanting to “unpick Brexit”.
He said: “I have repeatedly said that there is no case for going back into the EU and that includes the Single Market and Customs Union … but that does not mean that a Labour government wants to lower standards.” Report by Buseld.
