More than 2,000 troops have been deployed to assist in Sri Lanka’s flood relief efforts.
This video, from May 29, shows Sri Lankan Navy personnel clearing debris from a clogged bridge in Pitabeddara, in the country’s south.
According to a report from Times Online</a>, 71 personnel were dispatched to the bridge, which was clogged with fallen trees as a result of flash floods.
Over 170 people have died following one worst incidents of flooding in Sri Lanka since 2003, The Indian Express</a> reported, while over 100 are still reported missing.
