Spooky Mind - Abandoning God

Oh former father where have you gone?
leaving me just as my troubles dawn
so alone to face the storm
i look around and witness the cataclysm form
but still i stand tall
your absence will never make me fall.
no one will ever see me crawl
in this beaten shell there lies too much pride
to drag myself into the dark and hide

leave me alone
thats fine i have a soul of stone
i can do it on my own
i dont need a god
i dont need a hypocritical fraud
the last thing i need
is an abandoning god

someone so holy making his childrens lives hell
stack so much shit onto their lives they cant even tell
where to go or what to do, your grace is an infection
stack it so high no one knows who to ask for direction
treat our lives like a dissection
carefully place tragedies in the right places
you must love to see our stricken faces
beaten down and hurting before were born our ship starts sinking
whip us into shape so we dont stop believing and start thinking

Leave me be
You will never see
how much you destroy
when you treat a soul like a toy
it reaps life of joy
rape the woman
take the children
cage the men
make us look forward to the end
