Description
The Trump administration is discussing a potential rescue package for Spirit Airlines including up to $500M in government loans in exchange for warrants. Officials from the Commerce and Transportation Departments are involved with terms still under discussion. Spirit has struggled after a blocked JetBlue merger, engine issues, and rising jet fuel costs tied to the Iran war. The airline has entered bankruptcy twice since late 2024.
