New Spring

On the first day of spring I met a newcomer
heralding the arrival of the new season
His eyes were vivid green and his skin was in bloom
He was the fresh flower of dawn opening its petals
He was the pristine corolla of daybreak in the open field of morning

Breathing fast—it's not going to last

Spring falls so suddenly I startle at the earliest hour
I gaze at birds bathing in freshets and preening their feathers
In the morning I clean my body and soul under the shower
Tell me if the sunny days will last forever

Staring at the sun to admire the vernal equinox
Keeping up the balance between night and day
I rise to welcome the new blessing of spring
My heart is in full bloom and the whole world starts to sing

When the road unrolls up to the sky
When gusts of wind blow so hard
I smell scents of disgust
It's you that I have lost

Lost soul between night and day
Tell me which god I should pray

When wisteria blooms wistfully
Under the branch I stand for you
When heavy blooms loom over me
Under the tree I'll stay with you

Mournful lovers of days byegone
muse upon the glory of the past
We all know happiness could not last
Now your heart has turned into stone
Breathing fast—it's not going to last

Praise to the sun that gives us light
Praise to the sun that shines so bright
Praise to the sea that drowns melancholy
Praise to the flower that's pure and holy
Praise to the season that fades away
I will remember you everyday.
