Speeches & Reaffirmations

At an official ceremony marking the 30th Anniversary of the twinning between Newark and Emmendingen speeches were made by OB Stefan Schlatterer and Town Mayor, Tom Bickley. Young representatives from Emmendingen read the reaffirmations in German, English, French and Polish. Finally, officials from Emmendingen, Newark, Sandomierz and Six-Fours-les-Plages signed reaffirmation documents before exchanging them. This concluded the official element of the evening and the rest was given over to a concert by Newark Amateur Operatic Society which has been involved in the twinning since day one.
