Description

Current data transmission technology is beginning to reach its limits. If everyone begins talking on a mobile phone in a football stadium, for example, it can cause the system to crash. In his research at the University of Edinburgh and the Jacob's University in Bremen, Harald Haas is testing how to turn light signals from LEDs into data packages.In the future, light-emitting sources everywhere could theoretically double as transmission devices for huge amounts of data.
