Inhalt: Delores, Sister und Sparkle sind drei Schwestern aus Detroit. Sie wollen als Motown Girlgroup groß rauskommen, auch gegen den Willen der Mutter. 1968 ein echtes Problem. Aber die drei Mädels schaffen es über die lokale Berühmtheit hinaus und werden zu Stars. Allerdings mit all den Problemen vor denen ihre Mutter immer gewarnt hat, denn das Musikbusiness ist herzlos, hart und gnadenlos.
