Soulful One - ~not easily broken~

a love freely offered
by a courageous heart
is eagerly admired and
marvelled over as
a rare find
a precious treasure
reverently encased
behind fine glass
and placed on a pedestal
appreciated for
its beauty
its purity
its innocence
from a far
but remains
fearfully unaccepted
by a Soul
blinded by the
deceptions of fear
that whisper lies
of unworthiness

though geatly desired
by this troubled Soul
the love freely offered
by the courageous heart is
rejected at every offering
each rejection
inflicting pain
upon this tender fragile heart
in its naivity
its ever hopeful state
is easily hurt
and easily bruised
yet the Soul
of this tender courageous heart
though admired for
its beauty
its purity
its innocence
it is disconnected
and remains alone
and often lonely
yet perseveres
beyond the rejection
still hurt and bruised
but not easily broken
for the Soul of the tender heart
longs to be taken
from behind the bevelled glass
no longer admired or treasured
as a rare find
but cherished
and loved in return
