Just a few meters away
you make the forbidden call.
Your voice shakes, rises and falls,
eyes jerk warily one side,
then both. She’s away tonight,
you cry out, haunted by a ghost,

You’ve chosen me
and ache for invitation, as each
sentence ends high-pitched, it
beseeches my arms to reach
and grab you from the street.

Man of another, mine is not the sublime
dream of fusion with deceit.
Your perfect three I will not rip apart
To curl around your strong back
Or cradle in your dripping heat.
